Making a difference in Hartsville
In its first year, thanks to the remarkable support of committed individuals and the professional assistance and direct financial contributions of numerous partnering organizations including the Byerly Foundation, Coker College, the City of Hartsville, Duke Energy, Florence-Darlington Technical College, the Governor’s School for Science and Mathematics, Hartsville Chamber of Commerce, Hartsville Young Professionals, Pacolet Enterprises, and Sonoco, the Community Foundation for a Better Hartsville has made tremendous progress.
It has moved beyond developing its governance structures and identifying promising projects, to raising resources and facilitating wide-ranging growth-centered activities in Hartsville. It is not an exaggeration to say that the organization has matured into a robust, productive agent of positive local change.
